Best department store makeup for oily, acne prone skin?

im thinking about either Mac or Laura Mercier but i dont know if there are any better makeup choices out there. Particularly looking for foundation/concealer/powder.Best department store makeup for oily, acne prone skin?
MAC is one of the best lines I've found. Laura Mercier is good quality, but pricey for what it is and severely limited in color/choice. If you're looking for a more natural look, you might consider Clinique, but their stuff doesn't tend to have enough pigment for me personally...

Brand and quality matters, but so does COLOR. SOOOOOO many women wear the WRONG COLOR and its atrocious! Pick a line with MANY different shades of warm and cool colors. A light coverage doesn't have to be perfect, but medium or heavy coverage product does.

A few recommendations:

(I use a lot of MAC products for several reasons. They're fairly unexpensive, and very high quality. They're also created for and by makeup artists, so there are tons of shades and colors all of which blend really well. Use any brand you like, these are just my own recommendations. If you are unfamiliar with the brand check out www.maccosmetics.com)

A few recommendations

1 - MAC MATTE gloss. Ok I know this sounds weird, but its the BEST STUFF EVER! Particularly if you already have nice skin and just want that matte sexy look. Its a clear, thick gloss substance. A little bit goes a long way! Just rub it on with your hands and your done! This can be used as a powder substitute (for the matte look) or in addition to powder. Its also a great way to touch up in the middle of the day!

2. MAC Liquid Foundation SPF 15 - This is a medium coverage foundation that has a really nice finish. Let it set before you judge the finish. It streaks if not applied correctly, so make sure to check for streaks before moving on. SPF is an added bonus! I usually break out from SPF additives, but I've never had a problem with this foundation. In the hottest days of summer, it tends to sweat off easily. I recommend using/carrying a powder or powder foundation for touch ups.

3. MAC Studio Tech - This is a heavy/full coverage foundation with an almost flawless finish. It can be applied lightly for lighter coverage, or heavy for heavy coverage which gives it a nice versatility. The container lasts much longer if you use a foundation brush. It doesn't streak as easily, but takes a few tries to get used to working with the medium. This is great for those hot summer days (doesn't sweat off as easily). The only drawback is that it is easy to overapply and get the makeupy/cakey look if you aren't experienced/careful.

The best advice I can give is to go to the department store and try this stuff before you buy it! Thats what those ladies are there for. Try the product, wear it throughout the day, and see what works for you. Just be sure to wear it all day, and don't get conned into purchasing it until you've tried it. Try several lines and/or products to see what works for you. Cosmetics ladies can be a plethora of information, let them share it with you!Best department store makeup for oily, acne prone skin?
